Weight loss diet with coffee

Obesity has been increasing rapidly in recent years and now has become a public health problem in the word. Obesity is defined as excess accumulation of body fat and is known as a low grade inflammation condition.

Researchers from the University of Nottingham have shown that coffee can activate brown fat in the body. Coffee has been shown to increase the release of heat from brown fat, potentially boosting weight loss efforts.

Increasing its activity improves blood sugar control as well as improving blood lipid levels and the extra calories burnt help with weight loss.

Caffeine present in coffee is capable of increasing expenditure of energy and thus helps in losing weight. For the majority of the population, coffee is the major vehicle for the delivery of caffeine, followed by tea and cola beverages.

Human studies have shown that caffeine stimulates thermogenesis and fat oxidation. The thermic effect of caffeine is well-established, and the increases in energy expenditure with caffeinated coffee consumption (~430 kJ over 24 h) may be adequate in some individuals for weight maintenance. Furthermore, evidence suggests coffee consumption may modify the gastrointestinal tract in such a way that lipid and glucose absorption are attenuated.

The caffeine content is an inhibitor of adipogenesis so as to inhibit the adipogenesis adipose cells that cause smaller size and weight reduction. The benefits of coffee consumption on weight is increasing satiety and increase metabolism which helps maintain body weight and weight loss in people who are less physical activity.
