Espresso coffee

The meaning of the word espresso is that it is made for a special purpose, on the moment, on order.

Once brewed espresso cannot be kept and must be drink immediately. For Italian the word espresso means ‘pressed out’ describing how high pressure steam is used to force water through the ground coffee.

Espresso is the essence of coffee and the basis for many drinks, such s cappuccino and latte macchiato.

A properly made espresso shot has the head of natural foam called crema, what’s considered the shot’s visual signature.

Espresso is famous for being small, strong and black. Espresso is usually served in small coffee cups. This is due in part from the beans roasted until they are almost black, and twice the normal amount of ground coffee.

In espresso method, water temperature at 194 degrees Fahrenheit is used with 9-10 atmospheres of pressure. The high the pressure the less time it takes for the coffee to percolate and this method takes only 30 second.
