Coffee liqueur

A liqueur is a sweetened, flavored spirit. It is a type of alcohol that is made from distilled alcoholic beverages. Liqueurs are made from nearly every fruit and flavoring including almond, anise, apricot, banana, cherry, coffee, ginger, orange, pear, peppermint, plum and strawberry.

Fruit, herbs and other aromatic substances are infused with water or spirits such as brandy, whisky and rum to extract the flavour. Some liqueurs are made by distilling the main ingredient used for flavouring. The resulting spirit is colourless and may be coloured artificially.

Coffee liqueurs are usually sweetened spirit extract of coffee, colored brown. Tia Maria coffee liqueur – a liqueur made from coffee, rum, sugar and vanilla. It makes wonderful cocktails with coffee lovers in mind, It can be had over ice for a real ice-coffee drink with a kick.

Kahlua Mexican Coffee Liqueur is the finest coffee liqueur in the world. It is unlikely that it can be replicated at home.
